Teacher Appreciation Week

Teacher Appreciation Breakfast

Last week was Teacher Appreciation week, and the PTO gave a breakfast on Friday, to let our teachers know that we recognize how important they are to our children and our community.  Thank-you to John Kochinskas, Jen Houghton, Chris Elkinson, Patty Cunha, Laurie Laconto, Gloria Walker, Sherrie Allen, Alecia Underhill, and Kathy LeBlanc for sending baked goods and other breakfast items in for our teachers.

I would also like to thank the sixth grade team for putting together their own Kids’ Night Out to raise money for the Lake Compounce Field trip.

The Thompson Middle School PTO is looking for officer and chair person nominations for executive board positions, these positions can be co-run with two persons.  We are also looking for assistance in other areas if you are able, “many hands make light work”.

We would like to try a new time line for board members to hold positions in order to assist new members with a smooth and solid leadership transition.  New members would shadow or co-lead with the current member for the fall months and then lead their position independently for the spring.  They then would shadow the incoming member that following fall.  This gives ample time for new members to receive and review all documents, get the hang of meetings and the annual schedule, and nestle in comfortably.

For complete information on what the various position involve, click on the following link.
